This comment is for the next thread, for 1226.

So far today, for the 1226 OSX build, there’s a 3k gz file — just an empty folder, so far today.

I’ve been getting consistent crashes of the OSX Console whenever I try doing anything with the OSX 1225 nightly Extensions menu, today. FF doesn’t always crash, and never produces a Talkback when it does, so I think it’s time to go pet the cat.

Again, today, a zipped empty folder as the Mac OSX official build. Very Zen!

Meanwhile, I notice (again, OSX Firefox nightly, still 1225 build) the file named
in the /Users/~/Application Support/Firefox/ folder is identified, by OSX 10.3.7 icon and “get info” panel, as meant to be opened by default as a Graphic Converter file.

Would Firefox be troubled by this? I’ve noticed it’s having trouble finding plugins a lot the last few days. I’m inclined to think that once again OSX is looking at the extension, instead of the MIME type, to show ME what it wants me to think the file is all about — but behind the curtain, I dunno.

(Graphic Converter handles a great many file types looking at the extension, including .PDB (used by Palm HotSync). Not sure this is a problem, just puzzled to notice it.

Hank, the icon/default opener assignment won’t make a difference at all–unless you double-click the file ;) Firefox will be able to read and write to that file just fine (it’s not meant to be opened by the user/double-click like a saved webpage is).

    Bug 273466 has been reopened.

I’m not too keen on the MSI package as it stands at the moment, currently the MSI installer just ‘installs’ the regular Firefox installer and runs it so you have the confusing scenario of two installer windows open.
