still no mention of this bug?

  2. Cell Says:

Are you back to consistent updates of The Burning Edge?

  3. Nitrile Says:

    Bug #243066 is pretty irritating.

  4. José Jeria Says:

Also ran into Bug #243066, thought it was just me. Is it trunk only?

  5. berkut Says:

bug 243066 is from may 6th build, may 5th build does not exhibit the problem

So it might as well be that this bug is caused by the same issue as the slow image rendering bug…

  6. José Jeria Says:

Bug 242823 seems to be the same.

I have an idea for your site:

How about you start reporting on the branch builds instead of the trunk builds. Peter is already doing a daily thread on the MozillaZine forum about the trunk builds. Your work about the trunks is nice, it gives a quick overview over the bugs, but it is a bit silly to have two people doing the same job.

Mozilla Firefox 0.9 and 1.0 will be based on the 1.7 branch and I think we could need a site dedicated reporting about the bugs and regressions on the branch.

For example you could do a weekly thread about the branch builds in the weekend so you can focus on your studies.

The bug fix for “View source” will soon be complete. http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=222157

Using OSX? I recommend the unofficial build available through links in this discussion:

jacob: I dare say that Burning Edge was here before Peter started doing his thing in the MozillaZine forums. Perhaps you should talk to Peter about focusing on the branch builds.

  11. JamezPR Says:

And dare I say Peter(6) rips most of his info from The Burning Edge.

  12. Jeff Walden Says:

    JamezPR:

Hardly; those threads are out before the Burning Edge posts. The difference is that Peter(6) basically does a dump of all checkins from Bonsai, resulting in fixes listed that don’t affect Firefox or that are obscure enough that knowing they’re fixed is useless. Witness the fixes for Mozilla-specific code that get listed and the backend fixes whose effects are barely noticeable.

Each info source has a use; Peter(6)’s threads are good for the anal who wish to know about *every* fix, while the Burning Edge is for more targeted and useful information about nightly builds.

  13. fishbert Says:

You know, having Peter(6) and The Burning Edge is better than having neither. It just seems silly to me to expect an established and permanent website such as The Burning Edge to switch gears and focus on something as sporadic as branch builds.

Point taken; Comment retracted; Apologies to everyone; Yall know how it is when you flustered. One day I may be as level-headed as Jeff then again, maybe not.
