Running Mac OS X.28 and latest Mac X build and experiencing numerous crashes w/Firefox when accessing secured websites, usually when the site redirects to second or third level of secured site.

Also experiencing lack of ability to fill in required info on secured web pages. Blanks are there but am unable to input as key strokes do not register.

Are these issues only happening to me or is this something global?

What? I don’t have the proper access to view the details of *fixed* security bugs?

I was just wondering if these were the security holes referenced on slashdot today?

  4. Quark Says:

brooks: no, they’re not the slashdotted bug info. That’s bug 264944

The reason you don’t have access to fixed bugs is that it’s private until they choose to open it, and there’s no good reason to open it (unless it’s a publically known issue) until there are release versions out that fix the issue. Don’t forget there’s no version with the bugfix that we would recommend to end users currently.

Ahhh.. I get it. Thanks Quark.

    265103 (Linux crash) is “fixed-aviary1.0”.
    264786 (un-highlight w/iframes) is fixed.

brooks : Jesse hints about bug 249332 in http://www.squarefree.com/securitytips/mozilla-developers.html

  8. Noman Says:

There is a live bookmark icon on the main Firefox page (i.e. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)
    which links to http://www.mozilla.org/index.xml

Is this a browser mistake, a web page mistake, or something that will eventually be featured?

  9. Jesse Ruderman Says:

    I don’t get a live bookmarks icon on http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ using 2004-10-18 branch.

  10. Noman Says:

I’m using the 2004-10-20 branch, but it happened before also. Try this, middle click the upper right icon that goes to the Firefox home page.

Can anyone confirm this, or am I just nuts?

  11. Jesse Ruderman Says:

Niddle-clicking the throbber goes to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/ , which redirects to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ . If I go to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/ by pasting that URL into the address bar, the RSS icon appears briefly and disappears. But if I middle-click the throbber to go to the same redirecting URL, I am stuck with an RSS icon. The same happens if I *middle-click* a link to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/ . I’d say it’s a bug in Firefox.

http://web-sniffer.net/ shows the RSS link in http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/ , btw.

  12. Noman Says:

    Thanks for the clarification.
