The Burning Edge will return on Tuesday

I'm flying to Seattle tomorrow (Sunday) to interview for a job at Expedia. I will not be able to update The Burning Edge while I'm there. I'll fly back to Southern California on Tuesday. I'll spend the rest of the week visiting graduate schools here (UCI, UCLA, and UCSD).

    Good luck!

Isn’t Expedia owned by Microsoft? I doubt they like Mozilla.

    – Alexey.

  3. Jesse Ruderman Says:

Expedia is no longer owned by Microsoft.

Expedia’s flight search includes a DHTML calendar if you use IE. But the calendar feature is hidden and not necessary for entering a date, so you wouldn’t notice that something was missing if you used Mozilla.

It probably wouldn’t be too hard for them to make it work with Gecko. Gecko has excellent JavaScript support.

You never realize how much you use something until you can’t. I keep checking every few hours even though I know you won’t be around to post. Thanks for all your hardwork. Good luck with the interview.

    Good news :
    – “No profile” bug 236673 is fixed.
    – Bookmarks bugs 234116 + 234717 could well be solved by a patch from basic@mozillanews.org
    Pink section is shrinking !

  10. Logan Says:

Man, I’m lost without my daily infusion of Burning Edge. I’m afraid to update Firefox, maybe there’s an all-profiles-get-corrupted bug! Jesse, come home soon!

  11. Chris Dempsey Says:

You may want to consider UC Santa Barbara too – I work for the Graduate Division, so feel free to ask any questions you may have.

  12. Seth Kinast Says:

You know it… I’m holding out until he gets back to update :p. Well… maybe I’ll update on my secondary computer ;)

  13. tim Says:

I wonder if their is an official tally of daily downloads and whether this trip has hurt that total. I know I am not going to download without knowing if their is a critical bug in waiting (I know that this defeats the purpose of dailies but I do download a day later and have found smaller glitches).

Wow. I haven’t dared to try any builds since Jesse left. All day I’ve been refreshing the Burning Edge hoping for an update, but alas… :( Hope you’re doing well, Jesse.
