I’ve seen no extensions updated, no activity on the home pages of the extensions I use, and nothing in the forums but questions and reports of the obvious, that nothing’s installing right now.

I’ve been assuming everyone is just waiting because they won’t know what to update or change until the next major release comes out — but I’m only deducing that from the silence. Is there any better idea what’s up? Or is it just the ones I happen to be watching?

Well, Googlebar hasn’t updated in a while. I’ve posted several bugs, with no replies from the developers. Not sure why things are so silent. And forget the Adblock guys – they apparently fell off the face of the earth. I’ve just decided to do my own development. Like they say, if you want a job done right, do it yourself.

  3. Rirath Says:

There was a flurry of extensions for awhile, but perhaps many of the good ideas have already been done? Many of the smaller extensions I used in the past are now fixed in the browser.

At any rate, just keep checkin the obvious places…
    http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/
    http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/
    http://update.mozilla.org

    etc.

AdBlock — I just checked — and the Forums at the home page remain active, the current release is supposed to work with FF 1.0 properly, and they say the update just hasn’t been made available at the official extensions page yet.

I’ve been visiting home pages, and AdBlock’s is the only one that _has_ been actively commenting on progress, for all those I use.

So I’m contributing money as I can hoping to encourage them ….
