What exactly does the “Migration Branch landing, currently turned off!” checkin mean, and how will we know when the branch has been fully merged back into the trunk?

  2. Jesse Ruderman Says:

Ben and bryner made an extra CVS branch (not the same as the 0.8 branch) to work on the profile migration feature. I think they just checked in all the changes from that branch to the trunk, making that branch obsolete.

Profile migration will let you import bookmarks, cookies, and some prefs from other browsers.

  3. Jesse Ruderman Says:

    Oh, and passwords.

  4. Cell Says:

How is bug 230677 *partially* fixed?

  5. Jesse Ruderman Says:

You now have to move the cursor at least a pixel (while the dropdown is active) to trigger bug 230677. Before today, just having the cursor over the dropdown was sufficient to trigger the bug.

  6. alanjstr Says:

Sigh. So much for me upgrading to a new build.

  7. Hank Says:

Will ‘Profile Migration’ be able to handle carrying over info when we have to create a new Firefox profile from scratch?

I’ve never seen a clear statement of exactly which files (OSX, for my purposes) can safely be reused, and which can’t.

  8. Bill Gates Says:

    I love you.

    I love Mozilla Firefox.

    I love you.

  9. nihilist Says:

Ahh, ok. So the 0.8 branch being merged into the trunk will be a bigger annoucement.

  10. Jesse Ruderman Says:

The 0.8 branch will not be merged to the trunk. The 3 or 4 features added on the 0.8 branch that aren’t on the trunk yet (see http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=360784#360784 ) will probably be added to the trunk one at a time.
