jess, at last it seems that all my regular sites are loading as they should. No tabs load forever anymore. Not sure if it was a Firefox or an extension issue. No using User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060117 Firefox/1.5

More smooth than ever. And even lesser memory usage.....hmm, someone has done their job thats for sure...............

nestastnik, peakshysteria: Firefox 2 will be released off the Mozilla 1.8.1 Branch, which hasn`t yet been created (it will be created off of the 1.8 branch, MOZILLA_1_8_BRANCH). Most (I'd say all, but I'm not entirely certain) of the fixes being landed on the 1.8.0 branch (Firefox 1.5.0.x) are also being landed on the 1.8 branch. The 1.8.0 is not "technologically more advanced as 1.8", since it's receiving a subset of the fixes being landed on the 1.8 branch.

nestastnik check out: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=367453&sid=62740866c1ac7fc89a356c4c46a736aa which says:

The Official Win32 2006015 [Branch] build is not yet out.

Most recent official releases:
Firefox 1.5 final
20060113 1.8.0 Branch (For Firefox 1.5.0.X)
20060114 1.8 Branch (For Firefox 2.0)

So i thought i were on the road towards 2.0 with my 1.8 branch!? Or am i missing something here?

And yes it is possible i think to run both branch and trunk on the same machine if yuo run them with seperate profiles. Check out mozillazine for a howto....

another bug on 1.8.0 branch is when clicked EXIT and subsequent asking for CLOSE WINDOWS with open tabs won't switch to windows with tabs but shows last window, in my case empty one.

peakshysteria - seems strange, I think you are wrong. If I consider 1.8.0 branch to be technologically more advanced as 1.8, at least in memmory requirements, how can 1.8 became Firefox 2.0? And what, 1.8.0 will be 1.5.1? Funny. Thought 1.8 is the most stabile of them all, so thinking it will be Firefox 2.0 is wrong I think.

I can'g go to trunk now, at least if someone won't compare branch/trunk usability. I am using FF as my main browser althought I am testing. Is there a way I can use FF 1.8.0 branch and trunk at the same time?
