Now running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051109 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005110903 .........also looks very stable.

akumiszcza: TBE is short for Tabbrowser extensions which is a huge extension for extending tabbed browsing. Absolute the nr 1 extension (maybe splitting first place with the fantastic Update channel selector extension: http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/web/firefox/updatechannel/index.html). TBE is huge and not for everybody (thou i recommend it to everyone). You can find it here:

try opening few images, even small .jpgs in tabs via hyperlinks...

then try to save them via CTRL+S! It takes CPU time for 100 percent for whole 1-2 Seconds! and whole browser main tab is frozen, you can't do anything, switch tabs, scroll, etc, anything!

You must wait till tabs save. It is the case where show download window is selected. I have to try w/o it, but it takes eternity to save many open image tabs. I remember FF1.0 times on lower spec machines, didn't have this behaviour. Also a copy/paste:

' whole FF 1.5 branch(1.1+ etc) has some threading bugs or synchro problems or something…
when FF is loading page in backround, not only CPU goes relatively high but main thread(or tab) is frozen for some miliseconds, so if you beggin interacting with main tab window. or save it, or scrolling(try via 3rd button!) or anything it is really fro-fro-fro-zen-now moves-ze-zen-fro-zen.

It gets a little worse oppening multiple tabs, but the main problem here is frozening behaviour is very apparent with just one tab in backround loading…

I have a relatively high machine with relatively enought memmory, so i would expect much worser scenarios on low-end machines, I even heard FF1.07 hadn’t had such problem, sadly I can’t confirm, it has been a very long time I have been on stable branch.

this behaviour doesn’t seem to change in final, but I would like to know what is casing it.
'

I really think user experience is somewhat more frozen with 1.5 branch, I used to save img tabs well with FF1.0 on celeron processors with 128MB ram...
