I have the impression that the developers are more and more tempted to fix some bugs with band-aids in order to meet *their* deadline, rather than correctly fixing them. I fear that they are setting some time bombs for Firefox 2.0 .

I have seen nothing to indicate this.

Are you referring to anything in particular, or just a gut feeling?

As for the help screen, that only means they checked in the change to the version number, not that it officially is that version.

"I have the impression that the developers are more and more tempted to fix some bugs with band-aids in order to meet *their* deadline, rather than correctly fixing them. I fear that they are setting some time bombs for Firefox 2.0 ."

i always thought that each major upgrade such as version 2 and above would be cut from trunk. i.e. the branch build that leads into 1.0 now would only be used for the development of 1.x builds.
