Am I on crack or is firebird getting slower? I thought it was just because i've been running the XFT builds, but i've just reverted to the non-xft ones, and it seems so slow. when i got to big pages, the whole browser freezes up and doesn't redraw for several seconds. (athlon 1.2ghz, 768mb ram, hdparm says 47mb/s trans rate... kernel 2.4.21 + preempt)

I think that the reason for the tab spawning is because if you double click in the tab bar you get a new empty tab. by rapidly clicking the "x" you're overloading the button and getting the tab bar behaviour.
